Hello, I'm in a senior in high school and I've been looking at Wittenberg for awhile now and I'm visiting next month. Is it true that if you're not Greek that the students are rude to you? I've read several comments about Greek life and being lonely and friendless. I'm not into parties and stuff like that. Wittenberg was my top choice..but after looking at these comments I'm a bit concerned. Please get back to me if you have time, thanks! |
Absolutely right, some foreigner students become rude with the teacher that is because they think teacher isn’t going to hurt for this rudeness. One must read papernow review for help in essays online. but students should always respect for the teacher because this the person who will make bright future of yours. |
Major: English (This Major's Salary over time)
Let me first start off by saying that everything about college is personal experience and is relative. Some people have a really wonderful time at Witt, and others have a less than satisfactory time here. It is kind of a love-it hate-it school. And I have to say that I am not enjoying my time here at all. The school is not for me, bottom line. Let me first start off by saying some positives about Witt. The campus is very beautiful. It's kept very clean. The academic buildings are nice, so is the Student Center, and New Hall (The only nice dorm on campus). Faculty is very pleasant and helpful, and they want you to succeed in their class. And now for the negative. And boy, do I have a lot more for this part. When you first come to campus it seems like the people are so friendly, warm, and accepting, and like Witt is going to be your home away from home. And for me, I quickly discovered this was not going to be the case. My freshman year at Witt I tried to involve myself in an ample amount of campus activities thinking I would make friends in the small clubs that Witt offers. However, this was not the case at all. I joined Habitat for Humanity, Colleges Against Cancer, and tutored at an inner city elementary school with other Witt students, and I literally did not make a SINGLE friend! I was so perplexed why this was happening, and still am. These people would seem friendly inside the club meetings, but that was it. No friendships came from the clubs at all. No one would talk to me outside of the meetings. Sometimes not even in the meetings at all. I probably sound like a socially awkward loser, but that isn't the case at all. I always had friends in high school and could fit in. And then I found out why this was all really happening to me. Witt is a HUGE party school. So if you are not into partying, drinking, and doing drugs, you're going to have a hard time finding your place to fit in, like me. There are parties all weekend, and on "Witt Wednesday" and that is all what people talk about! It's crazy! The only people not into all the stuff are the really really religious kids on campus, so if you're not religious either and involved in those kinds of groups, I don't even know what to tell you. Also, I would say a majority of campus is in fraternities and sororities, and if that isn't your thing as well, don't even bother coming to Witt. You will be isolated, friendless, and miserable. Witt is honestly like high school all over again. It is VERY cliquey. Kids are immature, ignorant, and uncultured. Coming from NJ/NYC, and having a majority of Witt students being from Ohio and the Midwest, the kids are in a small town mind-fram bubble. There is really nothing to do in the town of Springfield. Everything is far away, and you need a car if you want to do anything remotely fun off campus. And even that stuff gets old really fast. The city is pretty scary, especially at night. So don't walk around alone, especially if you're a girl. So bottom line, my experience here is awful, and I am going to be transferring. I cannot wait to leave. I have been absolutely honest with my PERSONAL experience at Witt, and I hope this helps shed light on what the school tends to be like.
