Major: English (This Major's Salary over time)
I visited Messiah when I was a junior in high school and fell in love with the place right away. After applying a year later and getting accepted with a decent scholarship, I decided to attend. My freshman year was nothing but pleasant. From the friendly faculty to the genuine student body, I can honestly say that I'm sad my first year has come to a close.

My major is English with Secondary Education so technically I'm in both the English and the Ed. departments. While I haven't taken an Ed class yet, the English department has been wonderful. Faculty is always available to help and you can tell that they really care about students. I learned a lot in my introductory courses and am excited to get into the meat of my major next semester.

The social life at Messiah is what it is. The weekends can get boring (especially for freshman because you can't have a car), but there is usually something going on. Concerts, dances, coffee house, movies at parmer, etc. made the weekends bearable. I'm excited to have my car next year so I can spend some time off campus. Don't let the social life stop you from coming here, I found a great group of friends and we always figured out something to do.

The campus itself is beautiful, especially in the fall and spring. Those long winter months can be brutal, but it was worth it to see the flowers coming out at the end of March. The facilities are top notch, the new High Center is stunning and the recent renovation of the library is great.

I wouldn't trade my first year at Messiah for anything, I can't wait to go back in the fall.
