Okay, so I'm going to write the brutal truth about this school. I felt a little harsh to post this under "negative", so I just decided to put this as advice for you from my experience.

So let me tell you about myself: A Social bubbly girl who loves to get involved. I am a pretty smart student especially getting into top private school such as Emory and a bunch in NYC. The only reason I went here? Financial aid. I was kind of bummed, but I made the best out of the decision. At this school, I was apart of greek life. However, I as well talked to some of the "weirdos". As well I was always optimistic about my view. So I have a good sense of the school.

Let us begin with the academics. Honestly… It's like a joke. I truly feel like I'm just eating shitty food and partying at the same damn frat houses while paying thousands of dollars for it - Depending on the type of person you are, this can be a good or bad thing. But let's be honest, you are paying for a great education. I was expecting to have engaging conversations about the books we are reading, where the professor was interested in your opinion. That was no where NEAR to what I actually recieved. Core was honestly a fucking waste of time. The professor does not do shit… Just talks about the book. We literally waste all this damn money for books we skim through the pages for and never touch it again. It's kinda sad how to most engaging class was my theater class. I learned more life lessons there than any of my other classes. As well, if you EVER want to transfer out … LEAVE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE! Or even better, don't waste your time here. CORE WILL TRAP YOU! It does not transfer out. If you do decide to transfer out sophomore year, you will start over as if you are a freshman your junior year at another school. I am transferring my second semester of freshman year. The academics are not challenging whatsoever.

Now let's transfer over to the faculty. Though I haven't had too much experience with them, but I can tell you they are highly disorganized. They tend to lose a lot of people's information. For an example, they lost a lot of people's Immunization forms, leading the students to go pay for another shot they already got IN THE BEGINNING OF THE YEAR. They are not very informative. When I went to ask a question at the registrar, they just laughed and looked at me as if I had three heads. I wouldn't mind having an unhelpful faculty at a school with 25,000+ people. But it's kinda sad a state school I'm transferring to were more helpful than Oglethorpe. As well, there is only ONE person who advises people's major if you have concerns beyond your advisor's help. How is one man supposed to know about every major and every class which will help a student pursue what they want from their education? Man, I didn't realize how bad majority here are until I wrote this review.

Now now now… for the best part: Social Life. Let's begin with majorities concern: Guys and Gals. Seriously, if you are a monogamous person… I hate to tell you this, but it is slim to none here. There are only about a few couples here (From which I have seen). As well, you get the "OU Goggles". You know that guy you thought was okay looking at the beginning of the year… Well guess what? He becomes hot at the end of the semester thanks to your OU goggles. There are not many good looking guys here to begin with, none the less many straight guys. So if you are looking for a wholesome guy, I am sure they are out there! But it's certainly hard… it's like the hunger games! As well, this school barely has anything to do beyond the greek houses. Even that gets old. You see the same guys and people. And as I think about it… You really don't have any fun social things that don't involve alcohol. There aren't many events on campus, and where there are… It's okay. As well… You have three people: The weirdos, the normal people, and the people who think they're shit but they're really not. Unfortunately, that's all there really is.

This school is just not worth its money. The dorm I live in a dump, yet I'm paying 10,000 a year. The food sucks. Not too many options, none the less healthy options. If you are looking for a TRUE college experience that include a lot of diverse people, many things to do, and better social/academic setting… Then this isn't the place for you. I'm just glad to leave.
