They will use you as a guinea pig for their own observational research without your knowledge. Don't go to a private school in the U.S. unless you want a shoddy education and to be scammed by upper middle class jerks who think they are humanitarians but actually revel in their tenure track positions that serve to block current PhD students from their jobs and status. THeir goal is to break you down so you only look to them and think THEY ARE THE GOLD STANDARD when you will need to spend hours directing your own studies in order to be prepared for career or research. The research courses are poorly designed and set up to purposely fail students because their is no way in an on-line course that a student solely referring to material presented will ever get the lesson without a tutor who took the course and got an A. THe have a political agenda and believe graduate education is a cruel necessity for MSW students. They evaluate you on your personality and how good of a person their elitist neo-liberal drunk asses think you are. THIS WOULD NEVER HAPPEN IN A GRADUATE PROGRAM OUTSIDE SOCIAL WORK. They don't care if you are the next brilliant researcher or paradigm shifters. THey don't train researchers, innovators or thinkers. THey want dumb ass automatons who never question their authority even though they are so myopic and narrow-minded that they don't realize they are training their clueless students to only look up to self-important authority figures and always question themselves (even if they are geniuses - especially if they are academically gifted). Even though they are supposedly social workers they don't get that having a PhD and/or MSW doesn't make one qualified to teach social work or prepare out of work and career transitioning individuals who a desperately needed by society to fill vacant social work positions. No, instead there are about a handful of people who will make it their goal to destroy you if you don't fit into their clique/club social political reeducation camp they call a school. evil social scientist and social engineers with no sense of social responsibility or big picture view of where their students fit into the big world picture that doesn't depend on their asses being kissed by students who never question authority and always think they need to look to them for the answers. THey set up their 3 credit courses so you will spend every minute of every day working or thinking about your pointless assignments that aren't preparing you for anything but a big letdown. THEY ARE DOING THIS FOR THE MONEY FOLKS - not you and not the people who desperately need social workers. They shouldn't be in business as a social work program.
