I've had a mostly positive experience at Portland State. The campus is fairly open, and you definitely get the sense that it's integrated into a city. If you are looking for the closed-campus "college-town" feeling, PSU probably isn't the school for you; but if you're looking for a college that encourages independence, then this school is a great choice.
