Major: Other (This Major's Salary over time)
I am about halfway through my master's degree program here at Hopkins. I absolutely love it here. This was one of the best decisions I could have made when choosing a graduate school. I left my undergraduate program feeling unfulfilled and upset. So, coming to Hopkins a few years after that- well, it feels like a real gift- a scholastic gift of learning. I feel it's an honor to attend this school. The professors have generally been very helpful and super intelligent, but down to earth too. My classroom colleagues are amazing. I learn so much from them. This continues to be a self-exploratory experience, every time I embark on a new class. The workload is tough- don't get me wrong. Its a hard school and you have to work your butt off. But this approach is stretching me in ways I never expected. Students come to Hopkins because they love to learn. Its quite apparent. I came here because I was thirsty for knowledge. And I'm slurping now! Hehe. I really look forward to the rest of my journey here. Oh- a word about Baltimore- alright, the city gets a bad rap for being rough. Its not a safe city, I'll give you that. But it's cheap to live and there is a vibrant arts and food scene. It really depends on where you choose to live. The campus has good safety. I always get emails and texts from them to alert me. The thing you need to watch out for in Baltimore, above anything else, are the RATS. Seriously. They're huge. I would recommend an apartment several floors above the ground. This is the cities issue, not a Hopkins issue. Also, you could live in the county too, which is what I do now. Don't let the rats deter you. Lol. Hopkins is amazing and I'm very grateful for this experience.
