I have experience both positives and negatives here at Drake but with this review I want to concentrate on the negatives since you will need to determine if you can live these things if you want to attend here. Social life is mostly limited to Greek and Jocks. Several shootings right across the street on all sides of campus. Food is terrible except on parent and new student tour weeks. Get the lowest required meal plan since you will be eating elsewhere to get a better meal. Poor performance by most Drake sport teams. Very expensive compared to other colleges. You will probably have to find your own summer internships & career opportunities at graduation and for the limited ones that they have they are usually focused in the Des Moines area. Very limited alumni support for internships and jobs at graduation. Older housing. No premium on salaries at graduation for attending Drake. Lack of transparency & due process in the dean of students office. I read these types of reviews four years ago and thought it couldn't be that bad but here I am writing this review as I get towards the end of my journey here at Drake.
