Knox may not have the most money or greatest location (although even coming from Portland, OR, I like the smallish town of Galesburg, and it does have Amtrak so Chicago is a pretty cheap weekend trip), I think the school more than makes up for it with its amazing Professors and the community of students that are all really engaged. Knox does have really good academics (and your reading and writing will get SO MUCH better after even just a year here), but it also realizes that diversity is more important to learning than having classrooms full of students who got perfect scores on their SATs. All in all it is a really great environment to learn and grow as an intellectual and as a human being. No one leaves Knox the same as they were in high school, even after one year I have changed so much for the better and I think that is in large part because of the community of students that Knox encourages.
