Major: Mechanical Engineering (This Major's Salary over time)
What is good for some is bad for others. For instance, I love that AU is small. It is less hectic. I feel safe here. You'll get to know your professors and they will know you. Your classes are taught by professors, not TAs. Despite the school's small size, there are still great opportunities here - for study abroad, research (undergrads can get involved), project based learning, co-ops, and internships. The campus location is remote and rural. This does not bother me. I enjoy the outdoors (fishing, hiking, kayaking, skiing, snowboarding) and dislike big cities. The surrounding region is beautiful but it would be incredibly boring if you love to bar hop and go to clubs. The town of Alfred is very student centered, but very small. If you're thinking of going to school here, visit first.
