I came from the southeast, so there was a bit of a "culture shock" at first. In many ways Amherst is still old school, in that a lot of the student body comes from the traditional top feeder prep schools (Milton, Exeter, Georgetown Day, etc.) But people are friendly and it didn't take long to get used to. Classes are small and professors are great. I had a great experience here and would recommend it to anyone!
