Major: Criminal (This Major's Salary over time)
I came to CNU because they offered me the best chance at an ROTC scholarship. The professor of military science, a lieutenant Colonel, was very welcoming and professional. Sadly he retired my freshman year and weve shuffled around since then. The ROTC program itself is capable however one of the cadre, a senior enlisted, is a complete jerk. He displays sociopathic tendencies and sabotages cadets he doesnt like. Luckily hes retiring this year.

Outside of ROTC, my major is criminology, it was a new major when i arrived in 2019 however the school failed to update its course books on required classes and information surrounding it. The professors are kind, open minded and flexible, but as for my core credit professors, many are arrogant, self absorbed, or dont seem to understand their basic level course for a core credit does mot need to be as hard as the oxford entrance exam. I found myself clawing for grades when professors would tell me that ?CNU was a B average school and As had to be earned?. Theres also lots of busy work that feels repetitive and does nothing other than waste time.

Residence halls: maintenance is pathetic, dust is everywhere and the vents are never cleaned. Unless a toilet has exploded the staff will most likely ignore your request for a repair. This year our washing machine was broken for 90% of the semester and our dishwasher never worked. Living off campus os definitely preferable, especially considering the RAs are usually a bunch of narcs who go out of their way to try to catch you doing something wrong such as having alcohol in the dorms. The school purposefully tries to keep you there all three years in an attempt to suck as much money as they can out of you with checs, housing fees, ?damage? fees, and more.

Off campus: the area around CNU is shady at best and dangerous at worst. There are active gangs, gunfire, and drug addicts that roam the area. Recently my car was broken into and many items were stolen, including a lot pf my ROTC gear. CNU PD does not have adequate cameras to catch any thieves and seem pretty lazy. Last year there was a hit and run on my car that also went un investigated by them. It seems their only purpose is to bust parties. There is very little to do. Most of the bars suck, there arent really any clubs, and the food is fairly limited. The only draw is that busch gardens is down the road, and the beach is fairly close.

Sports: CNU football is a joke, i have never watched them win a game, in fact we lost one of our games 86-7. Even for a division 3 school we are terrible.

Social: if youre not a girl or in a fraternity you can expect to have a fairly bland college experience. I joined a fraternity and it is one of the only things keeping me at this school. That and my contract for the scholarship.
