The program that I am involved in is a B.F.A. in theater performance at the University of Michigan. If you are looking for a conservatory within a magnificent university full of any and all resources, this is the place for you. My theater class has under 20 students and for the most part we are very close and encouraging to one another. The classes themselves are broken down into Acting, Voice and Movement training with additional work in Stage Combat and Dialects. Each faculty member is unique in their teaching style and you as a student must learn what works for you as an actor and listen to what they have to offer. You are also encouraged to continue (or begin) your training in other areas of performance: musical theater, dance, voice etc. And you are also expected to complete several credits outside of the School of Music which is for the most part your choosing. Anywhere from Art History to Zoology if it pleases you. If this description interests you in University of Michigan, come and visit and truly see for yourself what it has to offer you.
