This is intriguing. By chance, do you still believe in Santa? |
I believe you and thanks for speaking up because many women don't. |

Thanks for your comment. I agree with the above comment that most women don't speak out. The state university I attended back was horrible when it came to sexual harassment. Female students were groped publicly, hit on, and one time invited by a male professor to watch women-degrading porn in an empty classroom at the college. When people went to the Dean of Students about the situation, this older man told them "we like to give our arts professors a lot of leeway to teach with their own style"… also, blaming the victim and telling them they should see a counselor was the usual there as well. As if seeing a counselor would do anything to make female students safer on campus. |

Major: Political Science (This Major's Salary over time)
I was raped by a man they recruited to hire as a professor at the law school and the police refused to file a report or call him, after spending five weeks complaining and then threatening to sue, the complaint was filed and a dean called the man, and he denied it, and they then called my family and said I lied about being raped. The police officer told me that in similar situations, they work out a schedule to accomodate both parties so that the victim and the perpetrator do not see each other and are not alone together. Other people told me not to say anything. It was a rather traumatizing experience and over and over people told me to go to counseling instead of calling the man who raped me, as I asked. He doesn't think he did anything wrong and as far as I know he'll be hired to work there this fall. Other professors harrassed me and my friends as well, and they just brush under the rug so to speak.
