The Univeristy of Akron is a nice campus, and a good size. My only problem with this school was my second year I lived in an apartment just off campus. My neighbor was shot in the spine by another tenant that lived in the same apartment complex before first semester even ended. It seemed like every weekend the police were called or something dangerous happened. The campus itself may be nice but the crime rate is so high I had to move home because living there was just constant danger. Houses are constantly being broken into, as our apartment was also robbed before the shooting happened. I wasn't living in a particulary bad area either, this is the norm for living in Akron. Also half of these crimes aren't even reported unless the University decides to send out a Z alert or an email. These reasons are why akron is an 86% commuter school. VERY dangerous!
