The person below me has no idea what theyre talking about, honestly.  I've been here for 2 years, im from the north, and i have had ZERO trouble finding parties at night.  Greek life is not the center of the school whatsoever...but it does help meet more people aka you will hear of more parties.  I have found a great balance of social and school life at the college of charleston and have loved every minute i have been here.  its absolutely GORGEOUS here...the campus is so unique and in the center of downtown charleston which has shopping, restaurants, bars...etc.  and there is so much culture and history that its enjoyable to be in the presence of.  the battery (on the water) is a 15 minute walk from campus..  a beautiful walk i might add... and you can walk by rainbow row, king st, or down by market st where theres carriage rides, great restaurants/bars and flea markets.  The weather is amazing.  The beaches are a 10 min drive.  The students are so much fun and always down to party day or night whether its kegs, happy hours (every restaurant has amazing happy hours and you have about a billion different places to choose from) and a wide array of bars (get an ID).  And the school is a great liberal arts education where you will learn so much as I have had incredible professors.  Overall, this school is amazing and i highly recommend it.  If youre sane and social, you cant hate this place
