Hey there, just wondering why you consider yourself "Quite Bright"? How did you decide that? Also, you sound adorable—just wanted to let you know. |
Major: Political Science (This Major's Salary over time)
I am a senior Integrated International Studies major with a double minor in German and Gender and Women's Studies. I would say that academically Knox is suited for students who are driven and intellectually curious. If there is a research project you want to do or an independent study you want undertake Knox is very open to that. There is a lot of wiggle room with the classes that you are required to take and someone of the same major may have a very different experience than you, it all depends on your motivation to learn and what you are interested in. I also think that Knox has a lot of resources available to prepare students for life after graduation be it graduate school or employment. Obviously, the career center is one of them but professors are also interested in having their students be successful once they leave Knox and have a lot of advice that they are willing to impart. I've really enjoyed the majority of social interactions I have had at Knox, yeah there are some jerks and wackos but in the large the student body is awesome. I have meet and befriended some way awesome people. I think that the character of our institution is conducive in bringing open-minded and friendly people to Knox. Campus life is active, there are parties every weekend as well as athletic events, club events, theatre/dance productions and what. People looking for something popping everyday of the week will however be largely disappointed- things are pretty tame on weekdays because students are usually studying. Yeah there are club meetings, sports/intramural practices as well as music/theatre/dance practice but the one is not likely to find a party on a Tuesday night. I really like the town of Galesburg and I think there are a lot of great and interesting things about the people who live here and there are cool local businesses and restaurants, but a bustling metropolis it is not. It is a largely urban community of about 35,000 people. The campus is in biking/walking distance of the main downtown area. Overall, I think that my time at Knox has been extremely well spent, and the education and experiences I have had have really shaped my life trajectory.
