I have mixed feelings about this school. I would say that you should definitely research this school before deciding to commit yourself. It is definitely a great place for some people but not for others. MHC preaches diversity but they seem to mean in terms of race/ethnicity. Socially it can be difficult especially if you don't conform to a certain "type". People are open-minded and down to earth for the most part, however, so I would say that is one good thing. But MHC is located in a very very small town and if you love to be in the city or bustling atmosphere, definitely don't come here. The academics are definitely of good quality, professors are approachable and always willing to help. But class discussion can get monotonous and predictable because it seems like certain opinions are not accepted. I don't appreciate the feminist slant in many classes and the overall arrogant/elitist/snobby attitude that many students don't know they have. Definitely don't come here if you want to interact with boys on a normal and non-awkward basis. Don't even get me started on the "events" that the school tries to hold in an attempt to make this place "fun". If you don't mind studying ALL day long, awkward interactions with boys, being in a tiny tiny town and having to take a long PVTA bus ride off campus to do exciting things, then come here. In other words, if you don't mind NOT having a healthy balance between the social and academic worlds, then certainly apply. Otherwise, stay far far away!
