I was a part time student, working full time, married with two kids and dirt poor. Tuition was reasonable and I worked hard at my job and got tution re-imbursement. Prior to coming to CSULA I had flunked out of another college "alma-most". CSULA whipped me into shape, had a major I could sink my teeth into, had a schedule I could work with and I had at least 4 outstanding professors. I went to grad school at a private college in Minnesoata years later and I cruised through. CSULA prepared me for life, grad school and a career. I've been a successful toymaker for 43 years. CSULA was part of that. Had I gone to a school with a big reputation, snooty classmates and high tuition...things might have turned out worse. If you are serious about a major CSULA offers, consider attending.
The Professors here areMar 30 2011Business - Management and Administration
The Professors here are brilliant, approachable, and helpful, unfortunately the same cannot be said about the staff. There has been some dramatic changes, new buildings are going up and the campus looks great.
The faculty especially in student teaching do notApr 08 2009Education
The faculty especially in student teaching do not grade you fairly! Professors will corroborate your grades in student teaching beforehand. Wonder why they all mark you the same? They'll look for reasons to mark you done in Special Education teaching! When they do this, compare your grades with other students in student teaching especially your partner! If you find they are doing this, file a grievance against that professor!
This is one of the worst universities (ifMar 21 2008Education
This is one of the worst universities (if you can call this one) I've seen. I was majoring in a specific field in education and no one, I mean NO ONE, acts like an educator there. The administrators are extremely mean, not helpful, unprofessional and idiotic. The credential department has no standards and they practically accepts anyone who can breathe. Faculties that are good will try to leave and the bad ones stay there because they can't leave yet. You cannot get help anywhere and they do not treat you like a human being; not to mention the school website that is updated probably once every 2 years.
