I am a junior at CCSU and let me tell you the worst mistake I have ever made is coming to this school. Their slogan is "Come with a dream, live with a future". Although it should be Come with a dream, leave with a record. If you want to have fun at college and do things every other college student does DO NOT COME TO CENTRAL. There is no social life because the police and school will try and put a stop immediately to any fun you and friends are trying to have. You WILL end up in new britain court seeing that same judge that see's murder and rape cases. Again if you want to have the full college experience please, please take my advice and save yourself the trouble. Im writing this so others dont have to go through what myself and a countless number of other students are going through. Do NOT come to Central Connecticut State University.

Question
Im going to be completely honest here ifQuite BrightPolitical Science
Im going to be completely honest here if you need to live on campus my answer is simple do not come here. I am from the other side of Connecticut so I decided to come and stay on campus here. It was fun the first week because there was a storm so everyone stayed. After that everyone goes home on weekends. It is like a ghost town on campus half the time. You could literally walk out on the central quad on a saturday afternoon and not find one person. If you are a commuter who has a fine social life outside of school then you'll like it. I am in the process of transferring to UCONN thats where a lot of CCSU kids go on weekends here anyway. Theres never any parties and the school has little activities. One time they had a movie in the Kaiser pool so I went to check it out thinking it would be cool till i got there and figured out they were playing cars 2. They preach a message of a dry campus but then give you an alternative which is to watch baby movies. Come on CCSU really I'm 19 not 5. In terms of academics its just like every other school. By the way don't think this is just some bad student complaining because I'm in the honors program and this school does nothing to keep their students in. Many students come here but everyone on my floor already has talked about transfer at one point or another. So in short if your a commuter come here but if your planning on living on campus please stay far away.

Question
The undergrad program at CCSU was excellent asEnglish
The undergrad program at CCSU was excellent as well as the educators, professors, etc. Depite that, CCSU continues to be seen as a weak step sister to UCONN. It's clear the State Legislature pours the greater percentage of its support, money and resources into UCONN and the state colleges like Central get what's left. Until recently, presidents at CCSU functioned more as hat-in-hand caretakers than purposeful leaders and educators. the current president is much more dynamic and doing a much better job than his predecessors with raising CCSU's visibility and enhancing its reputation on the national stage. That said, I really would like to see CCSU President Miller do more about establishing a national brand and reputation for the university. the days when CCSU was just a "regional" college and graduates lived and died nearby are long gone. today CCSU graduates are leaders in education, corporate America, finance, sports, etc. and no one knows that. CCSU may just be Connecticut's best kept secret.
