The University of Hartford

This is not a good school to go to especially for a Bachelor's degree. Their AUC program keeps you from taking relevant courses that fit easily into a liberal arts degree at other schools. It is very expensive and the many of the facilities are a disgrace, having not been painted in decades, re-tiled, or even having carpets with sewage run off on them replaced after bathroom overflows. There are some faculty members that are good, but the University has very poor management and administration. The majority of professors are adjunct and do not receive benefits even though they have advanced degrees, and work many hours. Many people that work for the University have expressed displeasure with not being paid on time, or not at all in some cases. So they're expensive, many of the kids are snotty idiots, they don't take care of their people, and the teachers have to be self-absorbed and look for other jobs while they are working for the most part. This school is really just a way for the top 10 administrators to make lots of money, education is a very secondary concern but does take place sometimes. If you don't believe me keep in mind that this is a private university. Most of the things that they do wrong, the amounts that the executives make, etc. are allowed to legally be kept private including the non-taxed gifts that they receive. Kind of like when Steve Jobs says he makes very little off of Apple, but forgets to mention that the company pays for most of his expenses. Since most of us spend money on our expenses we can probably see the advantages of having none, and how that would be better than a low salary and no benefits, etc.
