As a first year student i thought iBrightUndecided
As a first year student i thought i would experience the college life. Little did i know that when winter came my social life disappeared. My social life was awesome in the beggining of the year and then the parties just stopped. So where did everyone go? People got 60 dollar fake ids and went to the bars over the weekends. As if i can spend money every weekend. Mostly, it was the rich kids who were having the time of there lives as others were sitting in there dorm drinking. I would rather go to a party, but the parties were non existant. This school is a huge pothead school. It was supposely ranked in the magazine high times. Its extremly easy to meet people so i enjoyed that. The sports teams here aren't that good and school spirit is also non existant here. Halloween is one of the biggest party weekends here, but that was pretty much my only memory of me have the time of my life. The school did say that 69% of freshmen got in and we were one of the "brightest" groups to enter hartford. In my opinion, i have never met so many idiots in my life. Did they mention that this freshmen class are also the biggest trouble makers? nooo. Hartford has a good art program and good theater program. The class loads aren't too much that i can't handle..it would be difficult to fail out because hartford isn't that hard. I struggled more in hs then here. The food is ehhh, but that's every college. Overall, begining of the semester equals fun times, but when it gets cold out u will hear many freshmen complain that they are bored. 2nd semester people rush for frats and sororities but greek life isnt that popular. If it was then there would be parties EVERY WEEKEND. I have met some good people here, but i want my social life back.

Question
Don't go to this school if your planningBrightFine Arts - Painting/Sculpture/Photography/etc
Don't go to this school if your planning on going out to the city. The city is not cool. Rarely is there something to do. There are very few shows, but they sometimes come. The clubs are not that good, but sometimes its ok to go to. Don't compare the school to other schools, it has its own sort of karma. However if you are a pothead, or enjoy drugs, you'll love this school. Your education will be ok but you'll spend most of your time on campus. The real joy of the school of the social life of living on campus. You can make some amazing friends and do a closed in version of what you do @ home (drive to parties...but without driving)

The slogan of the school...
"Yeah, i'm in Hartford. Man, this is better than home!" Not a bad safety school.

Question
The University has a low faculty to studentBrightElectrical Engineering
The University has a low faculty to student ratio, meaning you are more than just a number. Faculty and staff you meet on day one will be there when you graduate. The school is agressively working to improve its image, increase on-campus activities, and improve the student's view and feeling toward the University.
