I had a tremendous experience at GW andQuite BrightPsychology
I had a tremendous experience at GW and would recommend it to anyone interested in attending an urban school with a very sophisticated student body in a very exciting international city. Make no mistake, GW has arrived and is only getting better – it is deemed as one of the country’s elite institutions in a variety of fields. I’m glad I went when I did as I probably couldn’t get in today because of the low acceptance rate. No other school in the world has a location like GW with its proximity to power, and the faculty includes leading experts in the fields of law, international affairs, and politics, among others. The student body is comprised of individuals from all over the world. Yes, many are from privileged backgrounds as other reviewers here have said (don’t get me started on the roommate I had from Turkey who had a brand new Range Rover AND BMW) but I found individuals from a range of socioeconomic levels and backgrounds. Furthermore, I made friends and memories that will last a lifetime and given the chance, wouldn’t trade my experience at GW for anything.

Question
You make your experience anywhere.Quite BrightPhilosophy
You make your experience anywhere. While the school is expensive, there are plenty of opportunities for creating a great and unique college experience. There is a multitude of internships (not just political) available around the city, and because GW is downtown its easy to commute between class and the internship. You have to seek out the challenging courses, and as an honor program student there was no shortage. What you get out of a class is also up to you. This isn’t high school where someone tells you what you need to know, you need to have a certain amount of intellectual curiosity. At times the students can seem snobbish and act like rich brats, but again – if you look beyond the surface and get involved, you will find some great people here. GW has its problems, but I think you will find similar ones at all universities – its up to the student to decided how enriching the undergrad experience will be.

Question
The Elliott School isBrightOther
The Elliott School is GW’s best asset and I’m glad I went there. However, this is one of the most expensive schools in the world and, consequently, seems to attract either oil rich Saudi offspring or Jews from the Upper East Side. Poor people stay away.
