I LOVE GW! So far, it has beenQuite BrightCommunications
I LOVE GW! So far, it has been an amazing, well-rounded experience. People are extremely open-minded and very easy to get to know. Housing is INCREDIBLE and so are the rest of the facilities-- you definitely get what you pay for. Most of the professors I've come into contact with have been very accessible and willing to help, as long as you take the intitiative to come to them. The coursework is definitely challenging-- although it varies depending on what classes/professors you have. There are plenty of opportunities to get politically involved since we're right in the middle of DC. When it comes to getting internships, this is the place to be. You have a good chance of getting amazing DC internships in any field you can think of because you're already in DC, GW gives you a lot of good experience (helpful for the resume), and a lot of business professionals graduated from GW and you automatically have a connection! And as for good times outside of school and work... if you can't find anything in DC (which is impossible), VA and MD are half an hour away by metro. GW is the place to be for people looking to be involved in international relations, law, medicine, journalism, and engineering. The only negative thing I would say is that if you're looking for diversity, this is not the place for you. Being hispanic, I thought I would encounter other minorities because DC is full of them. While there are a few latinos roaming around, they are few and far between. However, GW's always trying to up the diversity percentage, so this gives minority applicants a bit of help. The majorities on campus are Jewish kids and liberals.

After a year I have decided that GWU is just not the place for me. Do not be fooled by all the hype the university feeds prospectives. It's not very diverse when it comes to kids who have had different life experiences. Reconsidor if you are even the slightest bit nervous that you may feel out of place among people who know very little beyond their own privliged life. Most people here are NOT on scholarship they can actually afford it and a brand new wardrobe every month too. I know very few people who are incredibly happy here most just settle because they are already here. Me? I am transfering. Four years would try my sanity too much.
