Positive Negative Neutral Advice
I HATE this school.BrightPerfomance Arts
I HATE this school. I hate the people who attend and the faculty. Eckerd was supposed to be the place where students get the one on one time they want from a small college. What you get are self absorbed professors who only like you if you kiss their ass and stroke their ideals. They are not helpful in any manner. I go to class EACH AND EVERY DAY literally LOATHING to go. I cannot stand these people. If you dont smoke pot and you are not a liberal you will not fit in. The professors will actually smoke pot and encourage it among students. If you love your open minded strong willed child DO NOT send them here. All you will get are huge loan debt and a broken spirit. Being strong willed is frowned upon here, especially when your ideals are not what the professor believes. Eckerd College to me should be shut down and 4 years ago when the college was in the red and going broke they started accepting students with below average IQs just to stay afloat. Eckerd should not be a real college for this fact.

Question
Eckerd is very unique, from the people toBrightCultures/Civilization
Eckerd is very unique, from the people to the classes to the international travel opportunities. The school, physically is gorgeous with the beach, kappa field, and the waterfront; enough space (188 acres) to just bike and walk around to clear thoughts and get away from stress. I've met low key people and the party throwers, but it's incredibly easy to get out of a bad situation if it presents itself. Yes because it's a wet campus there's drinking so that people don't drink and drive, and we have potheads like every other campus but my friends who smoke have never pressured me, and never had a negative thing to say about me when i say no. People are very accepting here, because there a range of personalities present.

Professors are wonderful, they will do anything to help you if you prove you're passionate about the subject. If you don't give a crap then they will ask what's up with you/get your act together/can they help, they won't have any sympathy towards you. Most professors love to hear your opinion but if you can't back them up they are disappointed. There is a lack of diversity but I think that because I'm african-american from Atlanta, there are people from New Hampshire who thinks EC is diverse. To compensate there are students from 45 states and probably 30 countries.

My educational experience atLanguage - French/Spanish/etc.
My educational experience at then Florida Presbyterian College was extraordinary and has greatly affected and enhanced my life ever since. This is a assessment deeply shared by many of my classmates in the early years of the college.
