Upper Iowa University

I went to the Milwaukee center, so no real campus life was there. Most students were working adults. I also attended online classes for Masters work. I thought online was almost more work than in class. Very helpful faculty with real world experience or teaching experience at other universities. It was a solid education if not spectacular but not everyone can afford the name schools and the time needed to attend regular classes. UIU was a great experience for me and I would suggest it for adult students wanting to earn an education while still providing for your family. Not to be too rude but i find it telling that the negative comments about this school are hardly legible and complaining about too much work. Like anything in life, you get out of it what you put into it. UIu is not a diploma mill or for profit school. I am glad I went there and was able to get two degrees.

Alright, so I have read the reviews posted and would like to put in my two cents. Just take a moment if you will to reflect upon this: The current enrollment at UIU is 5,242 (CollegeBoard.com). Now think about the comments on this site roughly 6 ? 15 comments. There are a few discontent people who posted on this site as opposed to 5K + who currently attend the university. If you think for a second how many people attend versus the few negative comments we have here, it's quite staggering. Simple logic will tell us that the negative comments are limited to roughly 5 ? 10% of the current enrolled population. I can tell you from my experience that this University is challenging and the professors are quick to get back to you (currently it takes 30 minutes or less for a response from my course staff). Even when communicating with the academic advisors, I get a response quickly and they are quite accurate with the information they provide. I do not get the run-a-round. So take this information as you will, but I thoroughly enjoy me experience and the education I have received from this establishment. For validity, I live in FL and I am enrolled in the MIS Online program. I am AD Air Force and I am enrolled in the MIS program, which suites my schedule well. The professor posts lectures online (including videos, power point presentations, and course material). All due dates are clearly defined and methodically assigned. Additionally, as far as the quality of material learned, I have 3 exercises, a case study, and a quiz each week, so I have to LEARN the material in order to succeed. This course keeps me very busy, it's not overwhelming, but it's not easy.
