This school is about to loose their accreditationQuite BrightInterior Design
This school is about to loose their accreditation and quite honestly that had NO business having it in the first place. The faculty is completely unresponsive and unhelpful. I have avoided contact with the faculty as I have heard complete horror stories. This is a FOR PROFIT school, so if there is a way for them to force you into a course they will. They make it quite clear that the do not care about you.

The bulk of the instructors have not worked in the industry in years and those that have are so busy with their jobs that they merely show up for a paycheck and aren't interested in teaching. So you are left to figure out a great deal for yourself.

I am a career changer and already have a bachelors degree from a major university so I know what an ideal learning environment can look like and I assure you this is not it. It?s a business.

Additionally the classes are expensive and there are a multitude of unexplained fees. While most design firms work with MAC computers this school has maybe 5 MACs in the building and almost none of the computers work consistently. In 2012 and for the prices this school charges that is unacceptable.

My experience at Harrington College of Design hasInterior Design
My experience at Harrington College of Design has helped a great deal. As a graduate the opportunities have increased 100%. I am an "alternative" IE. older student and my life experiences were all within the construction and design field but there was a ceiling that was impenetrable with out the proper degree. In these difficult economic times it is difficult because of the lack of new build projects, but I would not be working at all with out this degree. Find a mentor, it will be invaluable!

I'm a photography major who went to anotherQuite BrightOther
I'm a photography major who went to another photography school before Harrington in a small city. Got much more experience, hands on and knowledge from the smaller school with not "high end everything" as Harrington often brags about. I was completely misled by my admissions rep by what this school would be like, it was almost the complete opposite. Most photography teachers were rude and often acted better and too proud to get down to their students level. There are no after school activities, no student involvement. This schooling and student housing is completely overpriced even if it is in downtown Chicago. Goodluck in student housing if you do it, they can set you up with some pretty strange roommates who bring odd friends over and possibly steal your belongings. Over-all this school was a very bad experience for me. If you have problems at this school you never know who to turn to, they will send you to see every person that works at this school and all of them will say something different. I have known many people who went here for a semester or two and hated it, dreaded each day at this being one of them. Look into this school and really make sure it's for you don't get caught up in the lies and false hope your admission reps tell you. One last thing...maybe......YOUR CREDITS DO NOT TRANSFER FROM THIS SCHOOL TO ANOTHER SCHOOL IF YOU ARE A PHOTOGRAPHY STUDENT they fail to tell you this until you want to transfer your credits.
