You learn to survive at MTU, whether it's survive a 24-hour long engineering problem or survive the winters. I came out of the school with a very realistic look at the "real world." I found other co-workers who would be "too smart" or too proud to get their hands dirty or perform different tasks. MTU prepared me to jump into a problem and help solve it - no matter what corporate level I find myself at. I would recommend the MTU experience to any student who is ready to work hard, be an important part of a corporate team, and looking for a truly unique undergraduate experience. If you don't like outdoor activities or drinking heavily on weekends, your social life will be less rewarding. You get what you put in with regards to your education. Noone is here to hold your hand and the experience really teaches you to think for yourself and apply what you CAN learn, not what you did learn while here. I would say MTU built a great foundation for my ability to learn new things on my own. That is what I got out of my 4.5 years there. They don't teach it to you, they let you learn it.
