Please understand before you read this that you pay for what you get. It is an extremely cheap university for a very decent education. Don't expect there to a be a grand social life or a high standard of living when you are only paying $13,000 a semester to go here. Now, after my first year here I can more than say that this place sucks ass. Like the other reviews said, this place is shithole hick town full of Long Island Jews who think they're hot shit. The girls, for the most part, are ugly ass fat JAPpy bitches whose stomachs come out further than their tits. The social life here is incredible (NOT!). The only places to go at night are downtown or to shitty ass frat houses with cum stains all over the walls. Most kids go to "The Rat," where you have to claw you're fuckin way past huge masses of people at the bar, on the dance floor and to the bathroom. When you're on the dance floor, you end up grinding with the guys more than the girls (and I'm straight). If you decide to go to this school, remember never to room with an upperclassman who is randomly rooming. I made this mistake and I'll try to prevent it for all of you. My roommate is a grimy ass dirtbag who does drugs all day and complains about every single fuckin thing about his life. He sleeps until 4 in the afternoon and then takes a shit and sits at his computer until he does more drugs. The communities here are severly segregated; with white people dorming in CIW, blacks, hispanics, and asians in Hinman, frat kids in Newing, and international students and everyone else who applied to dorm too late in Dickinson. There are some good points about Binghamton though. The classes I've taken so far are not bad at all and some of the professors are real funny. You do make some great friends here despite what everyone else says. Seriously though, it is you're own decision about where you go and don't determine where you go based on what others say.

Potential freshmen, stay away, don't make the same mistake I did. Despite what the university's propaganda may suggest, nobody really likes it here very much, at best people tolerate Binghamton. There is a copious amount of drinking due to the fact that we are in the middle of absolutely nowhere, Upstate NY. If you can't accept the fact you are upstate and not in New York you will never make it here (like me). People are mean, everyone is from Long Island, and it's overall just a miserable experience.

Question
Going to Binghamton was the worst decision I'veNot so brightEconomics
Going to Binghamton was the worst decision I've ever made in my entire life and I seriously mean that. The main problem with this school is that nobody wants to be here and it shows. The campus almost looks like they went out of their way to make it as ugly as humanly possible. The food is gross, don't believe anyone who says the food isn't that bad. Don't trust what you hear on tours of this place, IT IS ALL LIES. In fact I was considering going on a tour next weekend and asking the tour guide questions like "How many sunny days are there in Binghamton annually?" to see how they handle it. Academically Binghamton is ok, but in all other aspects it just fails miserably. I feel neglected and fucked in the ass by this place, by how hard it was to make friends, that the university had me "tripled" for a semester, and how little attention i've gotten here.
