Super Brilliant
Lafayette gives you the opportunity to make your own experience -- there are a lot of "entrepreneurs" at the college who start really remarkable things with the remarkable resources available here. You need a positive attitude and a strong sense of self to distinguish yourself from the sometimes overly preppy, homogenous crowd -- but once you find your niche and your voice, the possibilities are truly endless. It's a rigorous academic environment, filled with people who want you to succeed in the classroom and in the work world -- this college is dedicated (perhaps to a fault) to your professional success.

Great school. We partied too much in my day but the school has swung too far in the opposite direction. LC has a great reputation in Phila and NYC but needs to expand that to a larger audience.

Lafayette is a cool place, it is a top notch school and the academics are just like everyone says they are. Not quite ivy league, but up there. The only problem is in the social life. If you're into partying, this is the place for you. If not, there are other opportunities. If you study a lot, you will be fine too. The problem is for those people who are in between. If you don't really party, but don't coup yourself in your room all day long it is difficult to find people to hang out with. I am only a freshman, so this may change and it is only my first impression. Overall, Lafayette is an amazing school and i would definitly recommend it to anyone, but it may be hard to get into it early on unless you party a lot.

The academic programs are very good, the faculty is amazingly accessible. Most people are easy to approach and friendly. Also, most students are from either PA or NJ. There is definitely a lack of multicultural interaction, though. I have found that many fellow students have simply never been exposed to other races, classes and cultures. This makes them appear to be close-minded at first, when in fact they have simply never imagined a difference in opinions/values/religion. It seems the root of this problem is a lack of exposure, not intentionally offensive behavior or close-mindedness (for the most part). Also, there is a sense of entitlement which sometimes leads to arrogance and snooty behavior.
