| Bright | The experience did not help me or hurt me. But the school's high cost, its indifferent, if not downright lazy professors, and monolithic student body (overwhelmingly white and suburban} made for a long four years. Maybe it has gotten better. But is Lafayette really worth $45,000 a year? Better you should buy a Lexus. | Starting Job: teacher, Preparedness: C-, Reputation: B- | | |

| Bright | The professors are amazing and take genuine interest in their students. The campus is georgous and the facilities that are provided (library and gym especially) are second to none. The administration will disregard any complaints from students and will only listen to people who are donating to the school. The school is also moving towards moving the student body on campus to cover themselves legally, much to the chagrin of anyone who wants to live off campus. Some of the punishments for harmless alcohol use are punished a little too severely. | Campus Aesthetics: A+, Surrounding City: D+ | | | |

First of all, Lafayette from an academic perspective is quite good. The professors almost always have time to meet with you, the content of the coursework is relevant, and academics all around are fine. Everything else however is just inexcusable. There is nothing to do in your free time but sit around in the dorms. The school has cracked down on partying, by placing all the frats on probation, which might not be a bad thing for everyone, but the school doesn't provide alternative activities for students to engage in.
If you are interested in the athletics here, find a different school. I was on the cross country team here for two months before getting kicked off without being able to compete. The teams favor recruits ONLY.
DON'T GO INTO TOWN AT NIGHT! You will be mugged and/or assaulted. If you like movies, too bad. The nearest movie theater is over 10 miles away.
The food here is not so bad, but the meal plan is just far too expensive.
Looking at the social scene, if you fit in perfectly back in high school where people were not so friendly, you'll have no problem making friends here, but if you are different from the "norm", or a bit awkward like me, then prepare to be alienated. This place is EXACTLY like high school where people stay with their groups, and make no effort to reach out and meet new people. 2/3s of the friends I made here suddenly started hating me second semester. The only way to have something to do here, is to know a lot of people. Well there you have it. My summary of why this school makes me unhappy. I can't wait to get out of here. | Faculty Accessibility: B+, Surrounding City: F | | | |

| Bright | I've lived in Easton, Pennsylvania all of my life, which is where Lafayette is located. I love the campus. It's hands down the best small college campus I visited/researched. The faculty at the school want to get to know you on a personal, even first name, basis. The only negative I've experienced is the lack of parties available for freshman guys during the first and second semester. | Innovation: A+, Scholastic Success: B- | | | |
