A Penn Stater put in a good word for me with his Penn State boss. All of use were Penn State Aeros. She hired me, because she knew what a Penn State Aero can do. I've worked on six spacecraft, and three of them had Penn State Aero mangers. I have have met many Aeros thru my seven years in industry. My latest job is operating the Swift spacecraft from Penn State, once it launches. The Flight Ops Team are nearly all alumni.Penn State has a good rep at NASA, especially Goddard, and a Penn Stater would always help you out career-wise.
