| | | | | | No PhD program, most questions are unrelated. A great school for reputation and course rigor, but the College has always promoted itself as seeking students with privileged backgrounds (Mommy & Daddy's little rich girls) and the campus has that ambiance! Some students are friendly, but on the most part (60%) a series of social butterflies who pride themselves of fluttering in exclusive social circles. If another college within the area had the same reputation and major....I would not even bother with Converse, heck I'm a grad student, married not wanting nor seeking a campus social life, I keep my head down and assault the credit hours, but for a young freshman, this college could be a nightmare of frustration seeking to fit in! BEWARE!! Everyone's ass at Converse is wound up tight in a competitive, hoiler-than-thou attitude operating in well oiled, maintained and exclusive cirles, that in many ways falsely enhances the Converse mystique and reputaion. WARNING!! If, as a freshman you are seeking a college you can look back on with fond memories of "the college experience" and not a series of running pitched battles with various cliques....then, look elsewhere, because at Converse YOU WILL be judged by your social standing or connections! | | May 15 2004 | Other | | |
