The school was not a challenge to me. I tried a little bit, but basically made sure I turned in my work. The University was a different experience for me.
There was a great course by Dr. Baker called Interviewing and I hated her the entire time I was enrolled in her course but I benefited from it. She also graded fairly for this course. She wasn't to stringent and wasn't too easy with all the course work she demanded.
The BAD BAD THING IS...The school tends to nickel and dime students where they shouldn't. There are too many testimonals that I had come across where a student was incorrectly charged a parking fee or room maintenance fee. BY The way-if you are an athlete forget all of those fees. I know on good authority that many fees are removed in regards to athletes. So WRONG!!!!!
What else? People are disrespectful. PEOPLE ARE IN POSITIONS of customer service where they shouldn't be. Some administrators do not accept that we have a choice to attend to another school, fact is some students there, do not have a choice, so students are taken advantage of over and over again.

I was at LUB for a year before i changed to another univeristy. This place totally lacked of academic resources in any fields of engineering and sciences. Only small proprotion of engineering faculty are funded to conduct a research. So, you should rule out this place if you would like to prepare yourself for a graduate study in your future.
As for the undergraduate students who only need a bachelor degree, it is all about choosing the right place. You have to be honest to yourself about how much you are actually interested in academic success. If you are a lazy person and always refuse to work very hard to do homework, then you would not survive in a decent university, where the class is very challenging and highly disciplined anyway.
Well, if you don't want to take academic success too seriously, this is a right place for you. You could survive and get your degree without too much dedication to your study. I made a mistake choosing this place at the start. But then i know myself that i could work hard and i want to be academically success. I was not belong to this place and so i left.
By the way, please ignore any story about those chemical factories around campus, it is not that bad and never bothered me at all. Air in anywhere in Houston do actually bothered me a lot, but Who say anything about air quality at U. Houston or Rice Univ?I don't party much. So, i would not say anything about party here. But security around campus here is also problematic. Somebody below me said that LUB is located in the middle of a slum. I could not agree more. The only bright side about its location is that aparments around the campus are very inexpensive. As far as i remembered, i share an aparment with a frien and manage to survive there (during 03-04) with 400-500 dollars in my pocket each month.

“I received an MBA from Lamar in '04Business - Management and Administration
I received an MBA from Lamar in '04 and whick took 63 hours because my undergraduate degree is not in business. The business program is on the rise as the dean is much younger than his predessesor and is bringing in new blood. The number of full-time students is at a record high as of Fall '07 and should continue to grow with the growth of industry in the area and should see a nice jump if & when football is returned to the campus.
