Some of the comments I've read on here are just amazingly blown out of proportion.
Mason's academics are good, better than a lot of other colleges. With only being a 35 or so year old University, what more could you ask for? Their academics are better than plenty of universities who've been around for over 100 years (examples: FSU, WVU, and others). Sure, these are party schools, but did you *really* go to college just to party? If you did, you're stupid. Simple as that.

I've never had a problem with Mason's social life. I knew that if I went to a huge party school, the parties would get old and then I'd be bored. At Mason I can still find a big party, yet find other things to do when I want to. For example, there are plenty of bars to go to. Most people leaving comments that the social life is horrible must not get out much, as I have found it quite easy to find a big party (100+ people) at least once every weekend, which I'm perfectly content with. To me, this allows the parties to not get as boring as quickly as it's not "the only thing to do" I have no complaints.

Question
Horrible school if your looking for a "typical"Quite BrightBusiness - Management and Administration
Horrible school if your looking for a "typical" college experience dont except to get it from GMU as the social scene here is horrible unless you want to go greek, even then beware of the cops who try to break up everything in the great fairfax which is one the richest counties in the nation, ranking among the top 3 every year. Fairfax has a low crime rate which is why they are always going after the college kids. This isnt the city where there is actual crime to worry about or the country where the cops dont care too much this is fairfax the worst place ever to have a typical college experience. This place feels like an extended community college I strongly advise not going here! There are so many other great colleges in VA that it should be silly for you go to go here if your looking for a meaningful college experience! JMU, UVA, WnM, VCU, ODU, Radford... so many too chose from, just make sure u dont go to Mason!

Question
I took a summer class and it was a joke.Quite BrightComputer Science
I took a summer class and it was a joke. I was a junior when I took a summer class and I felt intellectually superior among a bunch of college freshmen. Classroom discussions were a huge part of the educational technique, and frankly, paying any money for discussing some literary topics with a bunch of retards is a waste. Lots of the chicks are ugly, campus isn't particularly aesthetically pleasing as colleges should be, professors are also retarded (probably from teaching retarded students for x amount of years), and in general, the school is for retards. For anyone attending out of state, I just have to say, you are below retarded. Only attend if you are in-state, and for those seeking a true college education and college experience, come only if you intend on transferring.
