The University of Akron

Major: Computer Engineering (This Major's Salary over time)
I've been here 2 semesters so far and love it. The only bad think about akron is that the parking sucks unless you enjoy walking to and from parking decks. The only lots close to anything are usually full of those types that don't believe in parking for less than 4 hours at a time. The other bad point would be that there is still a lot of construction but it is restricted to the outskirts of the school and doesn't get in the way…except for the student union building which is great but still isn't completed yet. The last bad thing i have to say is that the ME lectures suck. basically you don't get taught anything related to MEing the first semester because not only will your teachers be foreign but some refuse to teach. Oh, and that there are ghettoes around the school and I've heard of a bad problem with rapes during the summer…
Now for what's good:
Clubs and partying

If you live on campus you can get your groove on every night if you choose to. There are plenty of frat parties going on usually and LOTS of different clubs to try out, although the better clubs are located away from akron.
Sports and clubs
There are plenty of teams to join and what surprised me the most was the Anime club. The mere existence of it astounded me.
Teachers and students
Most of the teachers are extremely helpfull and you can talk to nearly anybody on campus without fear of getting laughed at (if your asking directions for example). The buildings are all on either side of a rather long "road" type of grounding and only a few buildings require more than 5 minutes walk AWAY from the main campus.
Job oppurtunities
There are plenty of job oppurtunities in and around campus. One notable company is MBNA (on main street). They hire telemarketers and the majority of workers is from the U of A.
Advice

DON'T take any classes at Polky if you can avoid it (it's a LONG walk unless you drive)
