SIUC is a good place to find yourself. There are so many different individuals on campus to absorb into your daily life and make you realize a million paths to life lay out there and you don't have to be a "certain" way to be able to achieve your dreams and goals. SIUC may not be the most prestigious or most experienced or the hardest school academically for that matter, but do the scores really matter? SIUC gives you the opprotunity and you as the individual will do what you may with it but any where you go its all the same in the end you need drive and confidence, I believe SIU makes it possible for anyone, be they rich or poor, who is willing to put forth an effort, to achieve any position they desire be it high or low. I've enjoyed the student life as well, going to a bar or just hangin out with friends somewhere. Everything is close and within walking distance ( If all else fails…) The work here is within reaching, its not so critical that every student wants to rip their hair out by exam time but its hard enough that you know you have actually learned something instead of JUST gettin a grade and forgetting it all the next day! All in all its a fairly decent place and ALOT of students have walked the sidewalks and bridges and streets of this place to get an education that has taken them as far as THEIR hearts desired.
