Although different colleges have different reputations, I thought that college was college and I would have a good time anywhere I went. However, after coming here I realize how much of a disaster this school is. First off, I like to have fun and party (a lot), and most kids here are not like that. I'm sorry but playing games on your computer 24-7 is not my idea of a new and fun experience (aka college). The majority of kids here are dorks, hippies, asians who think they are ghetto, ugly girls who think they are better than you, and long islanders who come here with plenty of kids they know from high school and therefore have no need or desire to make new friends and meet new people. In fact, from what I have seen most kids who come here know people they went to high school with, and consequently if you want to make new friends it can be very hard. Because of that I still feel like I am in high school. Everyone here is in their little clique, and god forbid you try to be a part of them it's nearly impossible. I have met many people here, but when seeing them for a second time, whether its walking back from class or at a party, most don't say hi again and some even refuse to make eye contact, this is very frustrating, I am just trying to make new friends. In addition, I met some kids who lived in Newing, and when I would go over there to hang out the kids in their hall would all look at me like there was a problem, instead of wanting to make friends. Many frat kids live in Newing, and although it may seem like a good idea to join a frat here based on the lack of social life most frat kids here are complete idiots who think they are the shit for no particular reason. Everyone here has an ego and thinks they are tough, and I have seen plenty of fights at parties. Of course if you like watching kids get cracked over the head with beer bottles then you won't mind all the beef. With no football team, miserable weather, a sub par basketball team, a former wrestling team that no longer exists because this school is broke, segregated dorming communities, a half mile walk just to go to the gym, terrible food, snotty people, and an overall lack of school spirit, Binghamton may be the place for you.
