Date: Apr 26 2004 Major: Political Science (This Major's Salary over time) Coming to NU I was a little concerned about its rankings and reputation. All of my firends out of HS went to Ivy league schools which put alot of pressure on me to do well and prove something of myself. NU has done nothing but surprise me since I first show up at NU and even today. Nu has pumped millions into the school to attract better students and increase its rankings and ultimatly its reputation. When apply to NU I had my heart set on BU but as things would have it I was not accepted at BU. Looking back I am happy that things worked out as they did. NU in recent years has increased it prestige ten fold and is only slighly behind BU in student SAT averages. BU apart from a few new buildings on campus seems to have fallen into a rut and in some cases gone backwards. The gap ten years ago between BU and NU was huge, now the gap is ever so slight with NU closing in. NU as of late has announced a new plan to hire 100 more tenure profs, NU is one of only a handful of schools to do so. Most schools in the US are either cutting back their number of profs or are only hiring part time profs.
