ESF is very much a practical applications school. The majority of the research of which I'm aware is less theoretical and more applied. Generally, there's something of a blue-collar, vocational feel to the school. If you're looking to develop a revolutionary theory that will rock the world of environmental science, this isn't the place for you. If you want to become a solid, competent, knowledgeable forest manager, you've found your school.
