First of all, that 'southern hospitality' only refers to other southerners- just so you know. I had a hard time talking with deep southerners at parties at the beginning of the year (being from PA) because all they wanted to talk about was the war(what war???) Being an athlete has its ups and downs. i felt like i could never go out and meet anyone and couldn't join a sorority or leave ever on the weekends or ever go on a spring break vacation, but if you're an athlete this campus treats you like royalty. you get to use your own facility and they pay for almost everything. people are generally friendly (just say ur from Florida if you're a northerner cuz nobody really hates them) and always REALLY happy which is nice. football games are crazy and there is more school spirt here then i've ever seen. the lake on campus is beautiful and the trees and sunsets are amazing. downtown is lacking. if you're not 21 then u can't get into any bars which is sometimes the only thing to do-and they're REALLY strict on IDs. if you're a girl u can get into any party and drink for free (frats) but guys have a hard time getting in.
