I found my experience at Stetson to be extremely positive. I found lifelong friends, faculty that were willing to mentor me, and intellectually stimulating coursework. I also had a lot of fun! Deland is a small town but it is very close to the beach and Orlando. There is more to do in Deland than people experience. If you are someone that likes to get involved, campus life is VERY FUN! I personally loved my sorority experience and actually found it to be much less pretentious and close minded than I anticipated.

The best part of my Stetson experience was the courses I took in family business. Stetson is the only school in the country offering a major and minor in this. The courses changed my life. They helped me to find out what I would LOVE to do and be good at. I put together a 40 page "Development Plan" on who I am, what I value, and where I want to be in 5-10 years. It was a great help. I would have ended up working directly for my family business (which I would have hated) had I not done this. I recommend this program to anyone whose family owns a business and even to those whose family doesn't.
