Date: Oct 12 2004 Major: Religion/Religious (This Major's Salary over time) I believe that ORU really teaches by example how to trust God in every aspect of one's life. I did not intend to go to seminary and was quite put off with the idea of attending Oral Roberts University. When I came for the informational weekend, my eyes were opened to the possibilities of learning and serving in ministry. The professors are godly men and women who pour themselves into your life and learning; they exhort you to think outside the box and live you faith (as opposed to muse about faith in the proverbial ivory tower (or ivy tower ;)). When offered the opportunities to explore hospital chaplaincy, it ran counter to my intentions for congregational ministry, but it blessed me.The one negative (if it is a negative) is that the theology is conservative and premised on the Bible. Some would view that as being narrow and politically incorrect (which may be problematic with prospective employers). I am unapologically conservative and steeped in my convictions. The one employer who expressed deep reservations about ORU graduates is now happier than heck for this ORU man to serve at this hospital. I strongly commend Oral Roberts University to anyone who want a quality education from a quality faculty.
