Hi, if you're sonsidering Wae Forest, here are some things to consider.  Some are small some are major.  Just read on and you'll see.  I'll stat by saying, be wary of the Art department.  I learned a lot, and I spent all the time I could on those classes.  I liked many of the classes there, especially John Pickel’s classes and Paige’s classes.  A couple of the profs are assholes.  There are a couple of saints too though(Pickel(photo) and Paige(painting)).  Don't take too many credits in your major.  This will only piss off the gods who regulate such things.  It's best to just stay low and take the classes you’re told you need.  Any form of overachievement not business or math oriented will bring yucky reparations that you just don't want.  There is no parking here, or so you're parking tickets will soon suggest.  If you really want some student diversity in your college experience then by all means... not here.  No.  What we have the most of at Wake are skinny rich white girls.  Don't get me wrong they are plenty easy on the eyes; they just tend to be quite stuck up.  The many white guys just tend to be close-minded and immature, (must be the rich family thing).  There are few black students here.  In fact the University has actually deemed them obsolete and is phasing out that group.  We have tons of republicans here, so if you're one of those, come on down and meet the upper crust of the white trash community.  The campus is a beautiful one.  It is well manicured and has lots of nice trees.  Though the grass glows in the dark and the trees grow at an unholy rate.  It is in a good location, close to the NC Mountains and the Blue Ridge Parkway.  The school's basketball team is wonderful as is the ACC competition.  The biggest warning I have to give is: Do not come here if you are looking mainly for a great social life, ESPECIALLY if you are neither rich, white, stuck up, of bad taste, and have an open mind about anything other than sports and drinking and money.  Do attend if your top priorities are money, money and more of that.  Most that I have talked to note that any real, deep lasting social life is hard fought and little rewarding at this school.  Something about the school and its aura just make it very hard to develop and maintain lasting, true friendships (esp.  outside the frats and sororities).  But I shouldn't complain too much more, I did however find my soul mate here last semester.  And yes, she's white, but no she's neither skinny, rich, blonde, stupid, nor close-minded like 87% of the girls here.  Good Luck!
