Date: Feb 07 2005 Major: Fine Arts - Painting/Sculpture/Photography/etc (This Major's Salary over time) I really disliked SC because the students whom I worked with were cut-throat and very competitive. I've noticed that the locals here in LA are very greedy, and in turn, this style is reflected upon the majority of students at USC. I also find a lot of the parents of the USC students from where I'm from, to be very snotty and arrogant. I was not a richboy student like the rest of the student body. My parents worked in average jobs, and weren't snotty. I also wonder why the school's president promotes frat parties and drinking. Hazing and drinking is a BIG problem on campus. During my sophomore year, a student fell out of a dorm window and seriously injured himself. And recently, I've heard from a friend currently attending USC that a student fell out from a high-rise dorm window and died. Life in LA is very stressful, and if your parents don't live there or if you're not a local, then life will be tough. The dorms are noisy, and the RA's don't care about listening to students' concern. They play favoritism and are very biased. For example, I had this jerk roommate during my freshmen year who didn't want my drawer in the middle of the room. The reason I did that was I sprained my ankle. Then he whines to the RA, and the RA listened to him and told me to place my drawer back near my bed. USC was also a racist college and still is a racist school today. I am a minority, but the majority of the students at SC are rich white kids. You can sense it in the fraternity…mostly white rich students. There are also frats for minorities…but I didn't care much about them. Frankly, if you're not rich and white, be prepared to be left out of the social circle. If I were to go back in time I would have attended another better college. And frankly, I will not send my kids to SC.
