Major: Business - Management and Administration (This Major's Salary over time)
If you want to start your own business or become a top level executive someday, this is the place for you. Northeastern is ranked #4 by Forbes Magazine and the Princeton Review for Entrepreneurship, and for good reason. This school is really corked screwed into the business community. The resources are incredible. Most of the pre-professional majors (business, engineering, computer science, etc.) will teach you how to set up your own business (writing business plans, venture capital financing etc., rewards, pitfalls etc.), how to manage people. And the co-ops will help you get a feel for how companies are actually run. The co-ops are also a great networking tool. Here are a few companies that were founded by Northeastern people:

EMC;

Lycos

Clean Harbors, Inc.;

Black & Decker;

Napster; and

Cognex.

Here are a few companies where Northeastern grads have either been the CEO or some other high level executive (CIO,CFO etc.):

NBC;

Raytheon;

Lockheed Martin;

New York Life;

The Boston Globe;

Exxon;

General Electric;

Microsoft;

Analog Devices;

TJX;

John Hancock;

Fleet Bank;

State Street Bank;

Citizens Bank; and

GQ Magazine.

All of the above companies, hire Northeastern co-ops on a large scale and a few of the executives will actually come campus to speak to students (some will even teach a class or two).

Northeastern will provide you with great opportunities if you take advantage of the school’s vast resources. So if you want to be a future, leader come here.
