URI is an overall terrible school. The social life is atrocious, the academics are subpar, and the other students do not go out of their way to meet new people. URI does not plow the walkways, and ice overtakes the hills to make it difficult to walk up. I am transferring at the end of this semester and rightfully so. This university is dry and the administration is more concerned with depleting the alcohol on campus than anything else. RA’s walk around with the sole intent to write kids up, but they are never there when you have a problem. You need to drive EVERYWHERE. If you want to have fun you need to drive. There is nothing on campus, and it is so cold that I would rather sit miserably in my room then go somewhere to sit with my friends and be miserable.

I would love to have met this person. The simple fact is they probably did sit in their room by themselves. I could not agree less with the statements above. URI is fantastic, all schools have snow issues, deal with it. As for the sub par academics. I was hired right out of URI, started the day after graduation in marketing, a VERY hard industry to get into.
