You need self-discipline and time management skills. I had none of those when I got to Binghamton. Combine that with the fact that I was getting away from some very strict parents and all my study motivation went out the window. The science and math courses and Binghamton were extremely difficult and I could not get through them on sheer intelligence. As a result, I did not do well for my first two years until I did some soul-searching and started studying and stopped procrastinating all the time.
