Vanderbilt's motto really should be "work hard, play hard." I searched for a college that combined the strength of academics and would challenge me, but was not a place where I would spend every waking minute doing work in the library. Vanderbilt is the perfect balance of academics and social life. I have room for all the extracurriculars I want to do, and although the workload is challenging, it is not impossible. Every now and then I have a really tough week, but it's just nice to know that when Friday afternoon rolls around, I don't have to think about picking up a book until Sunday afternoon.
