Carbondale is a special place, surrounded by the woods and open-minded people. There's a variety of people that allow you to experience and explore who you are. The people also help individuals to find themselves and honor individuality. There's music of many genres, bluegrass, reggae, rock, and all the kinds of people who come with the scene.

Professors generally are opened to what you think and have to say. I've met some brilliant people who have connected with me on a personal and academic level.

The library is under construction, which greatly limits your ability to access research and books in general. I found that teachers are flexible and understanding, but I felt hindered by the lack of a library.

SIUC also plans to start construction on the campus under "Saluki Way."

The surrounding area is majestic, enthralling throughout the transformations of the seasons. There's hawks and deer on campus, and people walk through the woods to get to class.

Carbondale is a beautiful place for people to express their talents, personalities and questions.
