If you are looking for the full college experience it's definitely not at FAU. It is a small school and feels very much like a community college. The idea of south florida sounded fun to me before I went which is why I choose FAU but it is far from fun. Although Boca Raton has nice beaches, the town itself is insanely boring. Everything closes very early and there is nothing to do. The few people who claim to like FAU go to the same few bars which gets old very fast. The people that live in the area are extremely arrogant and overall the rudest people you will ever met. Most of the students are commuter students that still live at home so the campus empties out right around 5 and there is nothing ever going on on campus. (Hence the community college like atmosphere.) I would definitely not recommend FAU to anyone. You will only end miserable there and desperately wanting to transfer.
