I dont want to take any large amount of time expressing my views on Full Sail's shortcomings, but to put it quite simply it is a "rip off" as has been stated time and time again. I looked into the school before I went and got a lot of reviews stating that "you get what you put into it". However, after attending the school this I found that it is simply not true. My experience at Full lasted for the first five months of the Recording Arts degree program before I cut my losses and accepted that I had made a bad decision and ultimately dropped out. I had good grades (all As and Bs) and I still felt as though I was getting next to nothing out of my education. The truth about Full Sail is that it is simply not worth it. Yes I did learn some things while I was there but it was nothing that could not have been learned just as easily on my own. I'm sorry to dissapoint any one who had high hopes about Full Sail but it is just not worth it and please do not go there. Think about it this way. What do all of the people that give Full Sail negative reviews have to gain from doing so? My suggestion to anyone who is truly interested in working in a studio and wants to pursue Music Production of some kind as a career…buy a quality pro-sumer grade DAW i.e. Logic Pro or Cubase and become familiar with themIntern at any studio that you can find and learn the basics. You will have to do this if you go to Full Sail anyway!Look at the Music industry in a realistic sense. There is not a huge market for Producers, or even Engineers. (There is plenty of room for young people with studio Know how to work independently with up and coming bands) People who have made it to the "big time" through the studio do it from jumping into the business head first, having talent, and good people skills. Not buy paying thousands of dollars at an overpriced technical school.
